What we do

Fuji-Mayon is the contact point in the Philippines in charge of recruitment, selection and pre-arrival guidance for Filipino caregivers. We handle initial inquiries and applications in the Philippines, and coordinate interviews with care facilities in Japan.

We provide free online registration, document checks, explanations about Japanese systems and rules, and schedule online interviews with Japanese care facilities. We support the whole pre-departure process.

Steps to work in Japan

Here are the 8 steps from application to visa, arrival in Japan, and move-in & work start, with a clear explanation of “who is responsible for each step”.

Phase 1: Application to orientation (Philippines side)

Start with registration and information

    You register your basic information, NC II, Japanese level, etc. through the online form.
  • Step 2 [Fuji-Mayon] Document check & interview
    We check your NC II, Japanese level, ID, desired conditions, and other details.
  • Step 3 [Fuji-Mayon] Online orientation
    We explain the Specified Skilled Worker system, working conditions in Japan and the overall procedure in an easy-to-understand way.
Phase 2: Interview and visa preparation

Job decision and residence status

  • Step 4 [Fuji-Mayon + Employer] Online interview
    Based on your preferences and the facility’s conditions, we schedule and conduct a Zoom online interview.
  • Step 5 [Employer + Association] Explanation of employment contract
    Salary, working hours, days off and benefits are confirmed and explained to you.
  • Step 6 [Association] Support for residence status & visa application
    The association helps prepare the visa application documents and supports the application procedure.
Phase 3: Arrival in Japan, move-in & work start

Start your new life and work in Japan

  • Step 7 [Association + Employer] Pre-departure & arrival support
    The association may meet you at the airport if needed, and the employer supports you in finding housing and guides you through city hall procedures (resident registration, health insurance, pension).
  • Step 8 [Employer] Move-in & start work
    The employer supports your move into housing and provides orientation at the workplace. After that, you officially start working as a caregiver in Japan.

Who supports which part?

  • Fuji-Mayon: Steps 1–4 (application to interview coordination)
  • Association: Steps 6–7 (visa document support, airport pick-up, life consultation)
  • Employer: Steps 4, 5, 7, 8 (interview, contract explanation, housing support, move-in & work start)

Even after you start working, the association will provide regular check-ins, life consultation, and Japanese learning support. You will not be left alone to handle problems by yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q. How much is the salary?
A. The starting salary is usually around JPY 180,000–220,000 per month. It may vary by region and facility, but the minimum standard is protected by Japanese labor law.
Q. Is there a dormitory? How much is the cost?
A. For a 2DK room shared by two people, the dorm fee is usually around JPY 20,000–25,000 per month.
If you live in a rental apartment near the facility, in some cases the company will pay half of the rent.
Q. Can I bring my family to Japan?
A. If you obtain the National Care Worker license in Japan and your residence status is upgraded, there are cases where family members can join you if certain conditions are met.
Q. Is the interview online?
A. Yes, interviews are conducted online using Zoom.
Q. How long does it take until departure?
A. After you pass the interview and receive an “OK” from the employer, it usually takes about 2.5 to 4 months, depending on visa procedures and preparation.
Q. Is it really true that there is no Placement Fee?
A. Yes. There is no Placement Fee, and we will not charge any illegal fees. (Yes: No illegal fee)
Q. My Japanese is still weak. Is that okay?
A. In the end, N4 level is required, but if your interview is scheduled, Fuji-Mayon will provide free lessons to help you pass the interview. Please honestly tell us about your current Japanese level.
Q. If there is a trouble with my contract, who will help me?
A. You can receive one-on-one support from the Association. There is a support system for problems related to working conditions or human relations, so you do not have to deal with them alone.
